Obama, you could have kept this statement. It was basic, and the kind of thing you would expect a white politician to say. Not once did you mention the major role that white supremacy played in this whole situation. The black community is reeling from having witnessed the extent Klansmen can go to and still be aided and abetted by Police, and you just so *happen* to neglect to mention that. A colorblind statement is not impressive, it is actually dismissive, when the root of the issue is clearly unbridled white power. What will it take for you to denounce racism if not this incident?
